Tom Palmieri, MS, NCC, LPC, LBS
I have been a counselor for just shy of a decade in South Central PA prior to relocating from Brooklyn, NY where I worked in wellness coaching. I take an integrated clinical approach at how the mind and body are impacted by our environments and relationships. The opportunity for change is always on the table, and my job as a counselor is to help facilitate change. I am also an adjunct instructor and clinical supervisor for graduate trainees at Shippensburg University.
Practice Description
Counseling gives you the ability to practice re-writing your story. My goal is to help create a safe, and brave space where my clients can take risks to get “unstuck”. People tend to have a good idea of what upsets and distresses them, but counseling is about finding new perspectives and behaviors to do something different. The counselor-client relationship is one of trust, compassion, honesty, and allows people to have better relationships with others in their lives.
I have previously worked as an in-home family therapist, a behavioral consultant for individuals on the Autism Spectrum, a co-director of an intensive-outpatient recovery program, and as a college counselor at both the clinical and director levels. Counseling is not one size fits all, and I will work with you to customize our process towards what is most important to you.
