Dr. Erin Goedegebuure, EdD, LPC
Director, Licensed Professional Counselor
I have been practicing psychotherapy in the Susquehanna Valley for over 16 years. I work with individuals (adults), couples, and families on the problems they experience in their lives and relationships. My style is gentle, and I encourage an environment that is open and supportive. I help clients to be comfortable and candid about their thoughts and feelings, and to make important emotional and behavioral changes that are positive for their lives and their families. In addition to conducting therapy, I am an adjunct professor of psychology at Susquehanna University.
I have been with my partner for 22 years and married for 16. I am the mother of two kiddos, Nolan and Teddy. We spend time together playing soccer, going out to eat, and reading books. I also enjoy teaching, watching movies, traveling, reading novels, and eating good food.
Practice Description
My approach in therapy is warm and pragmatic. I often incorporate humor, remind people of their strengths, and examine healthy behavioral and emotional perspectives perhaps not previously considered. The relationship between therapist and client is vitally important and must feel safe and comfortable. Building a meaningful relationship is perhaps my favorite part of this work.
Clients with whom I’ve worked include those with depression or anxiety, those experiencing developmental transitions, moms and dads navigating the difficulties of parenting, women experiencing mental-health issues, and those dealing with loss. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I welcome people from all races, ethnicities, sexual or gender identifications, and backgrounds.
